One-time new DISTANCIA Visa Cardmember First Use Miles will be awarded when you pay your annual fee or use your card for purchases. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for First Use Miles to be credited to the primary cardmember's DISTANCIA Mileage account. DISTANCIA Visa Card must be open and in good standing at the time of the Mileage award. This offer is valid for new DISTANCIA Visa Card accounts only. DISTANCIA Visa Signature Cards receive two miles for every $1 net purchases charged for qualified TACA Airlines and affiliated carriers tickets purchased directly from TACA and TACA.com. Affliate carriers include Aviateca, S.A., Nicaragüense de Aviación, S.A., TACA de Honduras, .S.A de C.V., Líneas Aéreas Costarricenses, S.A., Trans American Airlines, S.A. (d.b.a. TACA PERÚ), Isleña de Inversiones, S.A. de C.V., and TACA Costa Rica, S.A. Not applicable for ticket purchases from travel agencies, other online travel sites or partners. Your DISTANCIA Visa card must be used to make the purchase in order to be eligible for the double miles. The first mile per dollar spent will automatically appear on your DISTANCIA Visa statement as Purchase Miles and Double Miles credits will appear as Double Miles on the same statement. The DISTANCIA Visa Card Account must be open and in good standing at time of Mileage credit.

DISTANCIA Visa and DISTANCIA Visa Signature Cardholders will receive a 25% and 50% Excess Baggage Discount, respectively, which can only be redeemed at TACA ticketing offices (not web, Call Center or Airport). The excess baggage redemption must be completed at least 6 hours prior to flight departure and is available for revenue tickets only. Only one excess baggage redemption is required per piece of baggage each way (Origin – Destination) regardless of the number of segments. The excess baggage redemption waives the applicable fee for an additional piece of baggage of the size and weight allowed under the current Baggage Policy or the applicable fee for excess weight (up to 100 pounds) or dimensions (up to 85 linear inches) for one piece of baggage. There is a maximum of three excess baggage redemptions each way per passenger. The Passenger Name Record (PNR) will be documented with entries indicating the number of excess baggage redemptions. Each Excess Baggage redemption will be shown as a separate entry in your DISTANCIA account. The Excess Baggage Discount percent shown is based on an 8,000 DISTANCIA Mile requirement for one Excess baggage redemption.

The Signature card provides the benefit of a No Preset Spending Limit and a Revolve Limit that allows you to carry a designated part of your balance from one statement to the next. A No Preset Spending Limit does not mean unlimited spending. Authorizations are provided using information such as account history, credit record, income verification and liquid assets.

Dependent Child(ren) means unmarried children who are primarily dependent upon the insured for maintenance and support and who are under the age of 19 and reside with the insured, beyond the age of 19 who are permanently mentally or physically challenged and incapable of self support, or up to the age of 25 if classified as a full-time student at an institute of higher learning.
